Speaker highlights Bahrain-Jordan ties and advancing strategic partnership

Manama, May 11 (BNA): Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, met with Faisal Akef Al Fayez, President of the Jordanian Senate.

 

Rami Saleh Wreikat Al Adwan, Ambassador of Jordan to Bahrain, senior parliamentarians, members of the Bahrain-Jordan Parliamentary Friendship Committee, and officials from the Council of Representatives, attended the meeting. 

 

Al Musallam affirmed the deep-rooted relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, noting the continued development of bilateral cooperation across various domains under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of Jordan.

 

The Speaker commended the close coordination, strategic partnership, and growing cooperation between the two kingdoms at all levels, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince of Jordan.

 

Al Musallam reaffirmed Bahrain’s steadfast support for Jordan in response to the recent Iranian attacks, expressing appreciation for Jordan’s sincere solidarity with Bahrain and stressing that Jordan’s security is an integral part of Bahrain’s security.

 

He also underscored the Council of Representatives’ commitment to further strengthening parliamentary cooperation with Jordan’s House of Representatives and Senate, and enhancing coordination at regional and international parliamentary forums in support of the shared interests of both countries and peoples. He highlighted the role of legislative councils in advancing joint programmes across various sectors and reiterated Bahrain’s firm support for the Palestinian cause and efforts to achieve peace in the region.

 

For his part, Al Fayez praised the advanced level of Bahrain-Jordan relations, describing them as a distinguished model of joint Arab cooperation supported by the leaderships of both kingdoms.

 

He affirmed that the strong bilateral ties are based on shared interests and common destiny, stressing that Bahrain’s security is closely linked to Jordan’s security amid regional challenges. He also commended Bahrain’s support for Jordan and HM King Abdullah II’s efforts to promote peace in the region and achieve a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions.

 

Al Fayez further highlighted the importance of parliamentary cooperation in supporting joint projects, activating bilateral agreements, and expanding Bahraini-Jordanian investment and trade partnerships. He wished Bahrain continued progress and prosperity under the leadership of His Majesty the King.
