Information Minister: Bahrain International Trophy’s Group 1 status strengthens Kingdom’s global standing in horseracing

Manama, Jun. 21 (BNA): Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, said that the Bahrain International Trophy’s elevation to the highest international classification in horseracing (Group 1) is a historic achievement that strengthens the Kingdom of Bahrain’s global standing in equestrianism and horseracing, reflecting the Kingdom’s growing international presence and reputation in a sport closely linked to its heritage.

 

Dr. Al Noaimi said the achievement reflects the strong support given to equestrianism and horseracing by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which has helped establish Bahrain as a leading international destination in the sector. He also highlighted the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which have contributed to a series of achievements that have enhanced the Kingdom’s international standing in equestrian sport and horseracing.

 

He added that the Bahrain International Trophy’s promotion to Group 1 status reflects the success of the vision of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court and Chairman of the High Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, whose leadership has guided the race’s development and strengthened its position among leading international horseraces, culminating in this historic achievement. 

 

The Information Minister noted that the Group 1 classification represents prestigious international recognition of Bahrain’s success in developing horseracing and raising it to the highest competitive standards. He added that the achievement reflects the Kingdom’s advanced organisational capabilities and the contribution of national talent, which have helped establish the Bahrain International Trophy among the world’s leading horseraces.
