Oil prices climb

Beijing, Sep. 15 (BNA): Oil prices rose nearly 2% on Tuesday.

Brent crude futures rose $1.87, or 1.77%, to $107.55 a barrel at 0633 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate futures rose $1.88, or 1.85%, to $103.27 a barrel, Reuters reported.

Both benchmarks rose more than 1% in the previous session.

Gold holds ground

Singapore, Sep. 15 (BNA): Gold held steady on Tuesday after touching a more-than-one-month low in the previous session.

Spot gold was little changed at $4,302.13 per ounce, as of 0510 GMT, after hitting its lowest point since August 7 on Monday.

U.S. gold futures were down 0.2% at $4,341.70, Reuters reported.

Spot silver steadied at $63.25, platinum gained 0.7% at $1,770.81 and palladium fell 0.4% to $1,288.25.
